Hi, I’m David. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico by a hardworking single mother who taught me discipline, curiosity, and the value of perseverance. Much of my childhood was spent with my grandfather — a humble, resourceful man who could fix anything. From him I learned creativity, problem‑solving, and how to make the most out of whatever you have.
My early life was full of ambition but lacking direction. I struggled through college, left the military early, and felt stuck in a cycle of quitting and disappointment. At 22, searching for a fresh start, I moved to Louisiana with nothing but a single bag and a lot of uncertainty. There, through the influence of my father and a pastor who took me under his wing, I began to hear the message of Jesus in a way I never had before.
Eventually, I surrendered my life to Christ — and everything changed. Not instantly, and not without mistakes, but God began reshaping my life piece by piece. I experienced growth, burnout, healing, and even “church hurt,” yet through it all, the Lord kept drawing me back to Him.
In time, I rebuilt my life, grew in my career, returned to my love for the arts, and met the woman who became my wife and the mother of my children. With her, God placed the missing piece I didn’t know I needed.
Today I live in South Carolina, running a photography business and following the calling God placed on my heart: to help others grow in faith, avoid the pitfalls I’ve experienced, and discover the hope and direction found only in Christ. These devotionals are my way of offering encouragement — small nuggets of truth and love — to anyone who needs them.
My journey hasn’t been perfect, but it’s been redeemed. And if my story can help even one person draw closer to Jesus, then every step has been worth it.
